ONE BALLOON

ONE BALLOON was shot with the Arri II B, an old, but reliable motion picture camera. While this is not a typical camera for shooting animation, we outfitted it with an intervalometer from NCS products. This allowed us to shoot time lapse and still frames. The decision to shoot with this format came out of an asthetic choice, followed by the challenge of creating a film which combines live action with stopmotion animation - with all the effects done in camera.

Because of the experimental nature of the film, we decided to alter the look of the film by processing it "skip bleach" and experimenting with reversal stocks. We also decided not to shoot anything 24fps to give a distinct quality to the characters' motion. READ MORE >>
